During
a Directed Retreat you usually meet individually with a director
for 45 - 60 minutes on each full day to share your experience of
prayer and whatever is going on between you and God throughout the
day. You may have encountered and responded to God in your formal
prayer time, on a walk, during a meal, etc. Suggestions for ongoing
prayer are often offered.
The only general gathering is for a communal service or liturgy.
You will have plenty of time and space for personal prayer, rest,
relaxation, and exercise.
To enhance attentiveness to God's still voice, a reverent silence
is maintained throughout the Retreat Center at all times, including
during meals. Background music will be played at lunch and dinner.
Please plan to arrive after 3 P.M. on opening day and to depart
at 11:30 A.M. on the final day. It is most suitable to the retreat
if your travel arrangements fit within these parameters. On the
opening day dinner is at 6 P.M. followed by a general meeting at
7:15 P.M. The retreat closes with an 11:00 A.M. communal prayer
followed by departure at approximately 11:30 A.M.
